Covid -19, Flu-A, Flu-B

ADSCIS utilizes state-of-the-art PCR testing to accurately detect three common respiratory viruses—influenza A, influenza B, and COVID-19. With a simple nasal swab, our lab can differentiate between these highly contagious illnesses that often present with similar symptoms. This allows medical providers to quickly identify whether a patient is infected with influenza A, influenza B or SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) and implement proper treatment.

Influenza A and B are the viruses responsible for seasonal flu outbreaks every year. Influenza A can infect both humans and animals and tends to cause more severe illness, while influenza B only infects humans. Both viruses spread most easily in winter months. Our PCR test reliably detects both influenza A and B.

COVID-19 is the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that emerged in 2019. COVID-19 has proven to be extremely transmissible and more deadly than seasonal flu. Our PCR testing can accurately determine if a patient has COVID-19 or seasonal influenza, which helps patients and doctors understand exactly what they are dealing with.
